Douglas Hart was the original bassist and a founder member of the influential Jesus and Mary Chain. His status as a respected musician may go some way to explaining why he establishes great relationships with artists and captures such relaxed and natural performances.
Douglas shot “Last Of The English Roses” and “Broken Love Song”with Peter Doherty. He also directed two videos for The Horrors’ Mercury nominated album “Primary Colours”. Most recently he has worked with Fionn Regan, Tiffany Page, The Bees, Alex Winston and the Vaccines. His archive also includes videos for artists such as Manic Street Preachers, Pet Shop Boys, My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream, Paul Weller, Stone Roses and The Libertines.
He has also struck out into directing longform work with his Manic Street Preachers documentary “Shadows and Words’.
Douglas’ first short film “Long Distance Information” which features Peter Mullan won Best Short at Rushes Soho Shorts Festival 2012. It has been shown at many film festivals; Sundance, London, Glasgow, Berlin and Clermont-Ferrand to name but a few.
