One of the country’s most well-known comedy directors, Declan has been consistently delivering first-rate comedy to our living rooms for the last ten years. During this time, he has been responsible for some of the funniest moments in TV, his long list of credits including 'Little Britain', 'Father Ted', 'Happiness' and 'Help'.
He has worked with a huge array of comic performers from Matt Lucas & David Walliams, to Steve Coogan, Eddie Izzard, Paul Whitehouse, Dawn French, Johnny Vegas and Jane Horrocks. And in the process earned himself an impressive hoard of awards including BAFTA’s (for 'Little Britain' and 'Father Ted'), International Emmy’s ('Little Britain') and British Comedy Awards ('Father Ted', 'Little Britain', 'Help' & 'Happiness').
Over the years, Declan has not only shown a gift for extracting unforgettable comic performances
out of his cast, but he has also been instrumental in the early development of some of TV’s finest comedies - most notably having cast and directed the inaugural series of Cold Feet (ITV).
Declan’s multi-format Walkers ‘Sandwich’ campaign for AMV BBDO won a Gold, 2 Silvers & a Bronze at Cannes in 2010, and followed it up in 2011 with the Grand Prix for Creative Effectiveness. He also directed the multi-camera coverage of both U2 and Beyonce’s headline performances at last year’s Glastonbury, building on the many years of experience in his parallel career as a live events director.
