Thomas has established a keen reputation as a natural director of beautifully stylish and evocative imagery. His work displays an instinctive feel for mood and atmosphere, nowhere more evident than his Sky Atlantic idents for Heavenly – a series of hypnotically seamless spots journeying backwards & forwards between British & American landscapes. He effortlessly deals with narrative too, having been 2nd Unit Director on the critically acclaimed feature films ‘Atonement’, ‘The Soloist’ and ‘Pride and Prejudice’.
A graduate of St Martin’s School of Art, and the Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratif in Paris, Thomas has most recently been directing a series of striking BT spots for AMV BBDO, was creative consultant on the Chanel spot starring Keira Knightly and is currently finishing shooting 2nd unit on ‘Anna Karenina’.
Last year Thomas completed a highly-praised documentary about life on LA’s skid row titled ‘Lost Angels’. Passionate and polemic, the film has been described as ‘an astonishing no-holds barred truth-fest; drenched in character, dipped in honesty, and steeped in heart’.
