Peter’s original comic slant has earned him a growing reputation for eye-opening and often controversial comedy storytelling. His background in both the camera department and as a respected actor in his own right is evident in the strong characters and cinematic look of his commercials. There is an almost painterly quality to the series of spots for Fotex, in particular, but also an undeniable emphasis on humorously quirky casting & deadpan performance.
His viral for Fleggaard - which introduced us to the charms of topless skydiving – garnered a staggering 12 million hits on YouTube in only 2 months, more than double the entire population of Denmark. And it sold washing machines too(!)…with sales going up an incredible 26%. Mindful of the controversial nature of the campaign, the Copenhagen agency Uncle Grey rolled out an equally amusing follow-up film - but this time for the ladies, featuring romance, fit fellas & special offers on washing powder.
In 2010, Peter took a break from commercials to focus on directing a new series for Danish TV called Rytteriet (‘Cavalry’). A series of 10 episodes surrounding the often tense and hilariously dysfunctional relationships between various fictional characters, it received huge critical acclaim and was one of the most watched TV series of the year.
