From his early days as an editor and assistant to Jonas Akerlund, he has been honing a unique tone of voice, and has now built an extensive body of work for agencies such as Wieden & Kennedy London, Glue London, DDB Stockholm and Crispin Porter Bogusky.
A past Gold Lion & D&AD winner for the ESPN campaign he directed while part of the Swedish collective Acne, in recent years Max has developed his style with an increasingly visual flavour. Since leaving Acne in 2004, he has concentrated on creating subtly-observed and often cleverly-edited commercials in which his background as an editor has been a distinct influence.
